Bubu Awards, the most prestigious Internet and mobile competition in Indonesia, is looking for the next big thing in the digital industry. The question, however, to our tech savvy Indonesian readers is: Are you the next big thing?
As part of a bigger digital event, IDBYTE 2011, Bubu Awards v.07 consists of four main awards – Web, Digital Campaigns, Mobile Apps and Digital Talents. Catch the brief explanations on the awards below.You might just fit the bill:
(1) Web Awards: There are now 10 sub-categories, namely Product/Consumer, E-Commerce, News/Entertainment, Corporate Social Media, Game, Utility, Education, Government and Culture & Tourism. This award is looking for successful use of online media in transforming their target audience’s behavior in adopting digital lifestyle.
(2) Digital Campaign Awards: The award recognizes brands/products that excel in integrating digital campaign into their integrated marketing communication strategy.
(3) Mobile App Awards: This award showcases the best use of applications that significantly contribute to the value and effectiveness of mobile devices.
(4) Digital Talent Awards: This award identifies key individuals who make differences and contribute to a broader mass to adopt digital tech for business, community and daily life. There are three nominations for this award, including Digital Business Leader, Digital Community Leader and Digital Influencer.
All entries must be submitted via bubuawards.com, latest by 30 June 2011 5.00pm WIB.
The Judges
Continuing Bubu Awards’ tradition, Bubu Awards v.07 brings on more than 30 prominent people from various background as their judges. Some of the big names include Alec Ross (Senior Advisor for Innovation to Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton), Craig Newmark (Founder of Craiglist) and Julian Persaud (Managing Director of Google Southeast Asia).
Local Indonesian influential leaders in the digital industry who have joined the judges panel, include Sutanto Hartono (President Director of Microsoft Indonesia), Betti Alisjahbana (Former CEO of IBM Indonesia and Chairwoman of Indonesian Open Source Association), Hasnul Suhaimi (CEO of XL), and Andy Zain (Founder of Mobile Monday Indonesia). To ensure the credibility and independence of the Award, Ernst & Young Indonesia will be their official tabulator for the judging result.
Bubu Awards first started as a web design competition in Indonesia in 2001 and it is interesting to witness how Bubu Awards has transformed to cover a wider scope in the digital industry. The digital industry in Indonesia is entering a new level and Bubu Awards could give a stimulating recognition to spur continuous growth.
