Nom Nom… Imagine if we could cook selected Indonesian recipes assisted by a tablet computer. Thanks to Apps Foundry (the developer), we now have Selera Nusantara, an iPad app which teaches us how to cook indonesian dishes within a couple of swipes and taps.
Selera Nusantara provides 20 original Indonesian recipes in English. For each recipe, there are step-by-step preparation details, ingredients and high resolution images that serve as a perfect guideline when cooking Indonesian dishes. Plus, the app offers several interesting features such as timer and alarm to get notified when the step or dish is ready, saving the needed ingredients as a shopping list and sending the shopping list via email. It is that convenient.
To create Selera Nusantara, Apps Foundry worked together with Kartini Magazine, a magazine well known for its recipes among Indonesian women.
“Selera Nusantara is developed by combining high quality content from Kartini Magazine and latest iPad technology that offers more values for those who like cooking”, said Willson Cuaca, the CEO of Apps Foundry. Willson believes that we are now in the beginning of digital revolution that will change the way people work and interact with innovative computing devices.
The iPad is still predominantly used by men, according to a study by Yahoo! Mobile Blog. However, the emergence of apps such as Selera Nusantara and Better Beauty (an iPad-only magazine app) could change the iPad gender distribution users in the future.
Lastly, we have included a slideshow below to showcase how useful this recipe app could be. Enjoy! [Download the app here.]
